Course objectives:
|
To give students an overview of information technologies and data processing. To show students current trends in information systems for the healthcare environment and give them motivation for practical use of office suite applications.
|
Requirements on student
|
The student will fulfil the requirements in (a) a complex text document, (b) a document in a spreadsheet and (c) preparation of a presentation on an individual topic (P) with a minimum of 80% in each part. Credit is awarded after successfully completing credit tests ZT1 and ZT2 and presenting an accepted presentation (P) in front of other students.
The semestral activity as semestral works SP1 and SP2 can be accepted as ZT1 or ZT2 after their successful defence (combined form).
Notice:
The dates and form may be adjusted concerning the measures announced regarding the epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic.

Content
|
(A) Introduction -- introduction to the subject, motivation, organizational information, orientation to the university environment, and information systems.
(B) Information resources -- publications, datasets, data repositories; eLearning tools. Typographical rules.
(C) Office applications for advanced users.
(C1) Creating and presenting a presentation.
(C2) Creating complex text documents -- styles, sections, headers/footers, page numbering, lists and indexes, table of contents, citations, references, and embedded objects.
(C3) Resources for advanced data processing and visualization -- large-scale data analysis. Use of electronic data sources. Shared documents.
(D) Information and communication technologies in health care -- information systems, EHR, information systems, security and safety rules, not just patient data.
(E) Modern Trends in health care -- eHealth and Telemedicine; medical data formats and data exchange, data quality, acquisition, analysis, processing, and visualization of data produced.
(F) Verification of student's skills and knowledge.
